Valhalla features a unique turn-based combat system set on a hexagonal board. Players can utilize up to three Veras in exciting 1 player vs 1 player battles, employing strategy, prediction, and their well-trained Veras to achieve victory.

The Hexagonal Tile Board

Battles take place in a field of Hexagonal Tiles arranged in the shape of a hexagon. Opposing Veras start at opposite sides of the field and can move freely on it to fight.

As the game goes on, the field gradually shrinks, ****forcing Veras into close-quarters combat.

Draws can occur when both sides run out of standing Veras on the same turn, or if the turn timer runs out.

Action Pipeline

The Action Pipeline sits at the core of combat. It adds a tactical layer to every battle by defining the sequence and flow of actions within each turn.

At the start of every turn, players select the actions of all their Veras. Each Vera can perform one action, such as use an ability, move, use an item, or, if all else fails, skip their turn.

Whenever you fight using multiple Veras, you can switch between them freely and plan your turn effectively!

Once both players finalize their choices, each action then triggers during a specific combat phase within the Action Pipeline.

The following is the static order in which combat phases unfold when a turn plays out:

Pay close attention to where each Vera action fits within this hierarchy to strategize effectively!
